Currently, We are picking Sweet Corn, Winter Squash, Green Beans,
Tomatoes, Peppers, Okra, Eggplant, Zucchini, etc. What a great season! Often we sell out early in the day...so good for the
early bird!!! And remember, no shipping for our vegetables...they
come straight from our fields to you!
Our growing season in western Pennsylvania is from May with fresh
hand-picked asparagus to October when we harvest a wide selection of pumpkins,
winter squash, gourds, etc. As the seasons change and the fields produce
new harvests, we are busy in the fields hand-picking our vegetables. We
work hard to provide fresh, healthy produce. As we continue to farm this
land, we strive to implement farming techniques that are proven to maintain and
improve the quality of our soil. Fields are rotated out of production,
allowing the soil to rest. Each fall, cover crops are planted to enrich
the soil. These crops are then plowed back into the earth during the
spring season. This process creates green manure for the fields. Over
the past several years, our land has been farmed traditionally with commercial
pest control methods. Within the
last ten years, we have followed an IPM (Integrated Pest Management) program
that allows us to monitor the crops for pests and take necessary measures only
if the condition of the crops warranted pest control.
Our goal is to offer a small scale of “organically grown”
produce such as lettuces, cucumbers, zucchini, and herbs.
As we learn this newer method of farming, we aim to offer more produce
“organically grown”.
We
apply only food-grade and bio-natural fertilizers. Our young, locally
raised workers
spend hours weeding tomatoes, peppers, etc. by hand. Our goal is to provide
quality, safe foods for our valued customers and our family. Through the use of research
and "earth friendly" techniques, we will continue to strive to meet
our goal.
We are a family farm, growing for you! From our fields to your table...it's that simple!

they do not spend days in a truck traveling to your table! And, we know who
planted and harvested our vegetables!" (The Reegers)
